This first
set of photos were taken on January 16, 2006. Midwest Locomotive
has completed removing the rusted side-sheets, and is now
working on the kitchen floor and putting the final touches
on the side-sheet and wall supports. Notice that Midwest
has also removed the wall seperating the kitchen and the
hallway. We have determined it would be more effective to
replace the entire wall, rather than replace certain areas. |

This next set
of photos were taken around midnight on January 26-27, 2006.
Midwest Locomotive's second shift is hard at work on the interior
wall supports, cutting the old rusted ones out, and welding
in new ones. |

This last set
of photos was taken on the afternoon of January 27, 2006,
and the work of the previous night is now visible. The first
row of photos shows the old wall stringers, rusted, on the hallway
side of the car. To the right of the stringers are two new
exterior side-sheet supports.
The
next rows of photos show the new, repaired interior stringers. |

The photo on the right depicts
the stringers and side-sheet supports on the kitchen side of
the car. Once Midwest finished the hallway side, they will
work their way around the car. Compare this photo to some of
the photos above and you can see the amount of work Midwest
is putting into the car, and how much hidden rust was found. |
