We wanted to update you on some new items now available from the ELDCPS Store.

We are now selling copies of the 2009 ELHS/ELDCPS Calendar. Regular price is $9.95 ($8.95 for ELDCPS Members), but until July 31st, take an additional $1 off.

We also have a new pattern of reproduction china available for sale. The DL&W "Lackawanna" pattern was used by the DL&W in the early 20th century. We have worked with the Homer Laughlin China Company to reproduce this rare pattern. Several pieces are now available, as well as complete place settings.

One of the most popular items we sell is our Erie Lackawanna Special Blend Coffee. As an alternative, we are now selling Saluda Black Tea in reproduction Lackawanna Railroad tins. Each tin contains six tea bags, and is priced at $4.95 each. Tea is available in regular and decaf.

Finally, we are now selling tickets for our Saturday, August 16th round-trip "Joy Ride" excursion on New Jersey Transit's former Erie Lackawanna commuter lines. Departing from Hackettstown and Mt. Arlington, this trip includes a walking tour of Hoboken Terminal and surrounding area. Tickets are $119 ($109 for ELDCPS Members) and are very limited. Tickets include lunch and a light afternoon snack. The train will be pulled by NJ Transit diesels, and will consist of two Morristown & Erie private cars.

Previously sold out, we have received a limited amount of additional Rapido HO Scale coaches in DL&W and EL paint. These will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. We cleaned out Rapido's inventory of DL&W cars, so don't miss this opportunity to pick up these beautiful cars!

We are also now selling tickets for our 8th Annual "Dinner in the Diner Event" at Andre's Restaurant in Newton, NJ. This year’s event will be on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $75 for Non-Members, and $70 for ELDCPS Members. Tickets are now available from the Online Store under "Special Event Tickets".

Our Adopt-A-Window Campaign continues in an effort to replace all of the windows on Diner 741. So far, 5 out of 16 windows have been adopted for $750 apiece. A plaque with an inscription of the donor's choice will be placed under each adopted window. You can now Adopt-A-Window from the online store, as well as make any other special donations, by clicking on the "Donations and Membership" category.

Finally, in cooperation with the Erie Lackawanna Historical Society, we are now offering "Joint Memberships" in ELDCPS and ELHS from our online store. Membership in both societies is $55 annually, and can easily be added to any order made from the Online Store by clicking on the "Donations and Membership" category. If you are not currently a member of ELDCPS, purchasing a membership with your store order immediately qualifies you for special Members pricing.

We have a few new products available from the ELDCPS online store.

First, the much anticipated Erie Lackawanna Through Passenger Service In Color Volume 2 : 1965-1970. The new book from ELDCPS member John Boehner chronicles the final years of Erie Lackawanna passenger service. This book will be available at a special pre-production price of $47.98 (Regular price $55.98) until Jan. 5, 2008.

From Rapido Model Trains comes a streamlined Baggage Car. Available in Erie and Erie Lackawanna colors, as well as 12 other paint schemes. These cars sell for $49.95 each ($46.95 for ELDCPS members).

Finally, we are now carrying the DVD "Rising from the Rails : The Story of the Pullman Porter". This documentary is a must for any passenger train fan, as it studies the story of the Pullman porter, and their involvement in the Civil Rights Movement and American history. This DVD also includes over two hours of bonus features, including interviews with surviving porters and historians. This DVD is available for $19.95 ($18.95 for ELDCPS members).
